A bathing heaven in Cévennes
Time for a well-deserved break! Our swimming spot at our campsite in Roque sur Cèze is all ready for you to grab your swimming costume and towel and head on down.
Enjoy a relaxing moment in our swimming pool in our campsite in Cévennes. With a view of the river below you, we guarantee the ultimate bathing experience! For our little campers, a paddling pool is located just next to the main pool. A favourite with our younger holidaymakers, the two-sided water slide completes the swimming area at our Slow Village Provence Occitanie campsite! And not forgetting the beach-solarium spot next to the swimming pool.
Our campsite is also surrounded by the Cèze, several hundred metres of running water, with the source of this river located in the heart of the massif des Cévennes. Its riverbanks, covered in stones, help create shingle beaches, encouraging those who love to take a dip in wild, natural waters to dive in for a refreshing swim.
By heading up the river in the direction of the village of Roque sur Cèze, one of the top tourist sites here in Gard, the cascades du Sautadet, materialises before your eyes. Both downstream and upstream from these cascades, you will find several heavenly bathing spots…
Whether you fancy a dip or a drink, you won’t have far to go!
Head over to the swimming pool* bar for a cool refreshing drink tucked in the shade of the parasols, without having to take your eye off the pool.
* The pool is not heated.
You will feel like a fish in water!
Since the dawn of time, the tributaries of Gard have guided the waters of the green mountains of the Massif Central towards the Camargue and the Mediterranean. Today, the Ardèche, Gardon and the Cèze are known for being top touristic spots for canoers and bathers alike during the sunny seasons. These tributaries have dug out impressive canyons, such as the famous gorges de l’Ardèche, formed powerful, impressive waterfalls, like that of the cascades du Sautadet on the Cèze, and flow through some amazing edifices of human design, such as the famous Pont du Gard which straddles the Gardon.
Take the time to discover these incredible rivers during your stay at our Slow Village Provence Occitanie campsite. Admire the surrounding amazing fauna and flora and enjoy the best natural, idyllic bathing spots…
Stay on your “Gard”, and remember still waters run deep…
