Opening of Swimming Area
The long-awaited opening of the swimming area, delayed due to a late decrease in the Loire’s water levels, has finally arrived! The natural swimming area of Ponts-de-Cé is now accessible from Friday, June 21st until Sunday, September 1st.
At the heart of the Loire Valley, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Slow Village has decided to launch a new form of its holiday concept – an authentic natural campsite. At the gateway to Angers, the leading green city, Slow Village Loire Vallée occupies an exceptional beauty spot by the Loire. A perfect interlude for the Loire à Vélo (Loire By Bike) route, this new Maine et Loire campsite with its authentic and natural setting, enables you to go off to explore the famous Loire châteaux and the treasures of the Anjou region.

You will enjoy this cycle ride along the Loire returning back to your camp, on the château island in Les Ponts de Cé, at sundown.

It’s slow time!
Recharge your tribe’s batteries by the Loire river, either camping or staying in one of our holiday rentals able to accommodate 4 people, and make the most of the mild climate of the Anjou region at the Slow Village Loire Vallée campsite. Perfectly located at the gateway to Angers and its impressive Château d’Angers fortress, belonging to King René (Duke of Anjou) in the 15th century, you will be able to go off and explore the Loire Valley, its exceptional vineyards and its magnificent châteaux. In addition, make the most of the Anjou region’s mild climate to go to Terra Botanica, the botanical and theme park, the Parc Oriental de Maulévrier (Japanese gardens) or the Abbaye de Fontevraud – a former abbey now home to cultural events!
TAKE IT ALL IN!
After exploring Angers – the best city in which to live in France, and having gone all over the exceptional Loire à Vélo bicycle trail, visit the Abbaye de Fontevraud, the châteaux of Saumur, Brissac, Brézé, Le Plessis Macé and Le Plessis Bourré. In addition, visit the medieval town of Montreuil Bellay, the so-called troglodyte villages (containing cave dwellers’ sites from past centuries) and the vineyards of Anjou. A little further on are the following evocative names which have endowed upon the Loire Valley its UNESCO World Heritage Site status: Chambord, Chenonceau, Amboise, Azay le Rideau, Blois and others of significance…
